Spring Junction

Old Town Spring, Texas

Union Pacific Junction of Navasota Subdivision and Palestine Subdivision

2016

If the morning traffic is bad (due to construction), I take a back way out of our neighborhood through Old Town Spring. This route takes us across the west end of Spring Junction which is where the Navasota Subdivision meets the Palestine Subdivision. This is just north of UP`s Lloyd Yard.

I began to take note of the variety of weather we have and how different this made the same scene appear day to day. So, I figured I'd start taking photos as we crossed the Navasota Sub on Elm Street. All of these photos are "grab shots" made with an iPhone. I'm facing east into the Wye and the time is approximately 0700 CT.

This isn't Spring Junction, but it's nearby at Belt Junction.

The final un-patched Southern Pacific locomotive I ever took a picture of.

In mid-November, the construction was completed on our normal route. So, we no longer got to see Spring Junction in the mornings. It was fun while it lasted.
