Lava, CO is located at MP 192.5, about 10 miles west of Antonito.
The Rio Grande built a connecting track to create a balloon loop for turning snow fighting work trains.
The Pump House for the tank is located several hundred yards south of the tank at the bottom of the hill. Water was pulled from the Rio Los Piņos. The Friends of the C&T have plans to restore the Pump House and Tank to operational condition. |
