Spring Junction

On July 7, 2011 we spotted this train during our commute home along the UP line between Houston and Spring, TX (the Hardy Tollway). The train had green signals all the way into and through Lloyd Yard. So, I raced home, dropped off Michele, grabbed my cameras, and went back to the junction. I only had to wait 10 minutes for the train to arrive. The train is heading compass west but railroad north onto the Navasota Subdivision, around the southwest leg of the wye.

The Conductor gave me the evil eye and you can hear the warning blast on the video. I was plenty clear of the RoW, just a few feet off of the public road. I didn't hear them report me on my scanner, though. Next time I'll try to stay out of sight so I don't alarm anyone.

The thermometer in my truck showed it was a toasty 104 degree. Can't wait until fall arrives in late November. Gotta love Texas summers!
