My N Scale Version of the Route from Malta, CO to Minturn, CO
4 January 2011
During the New Years break from work I finished gluing down the foam on the lower deck. |
The loop around Belden Mine. The siding and yard aren't finished or even fully planned yet. The Eagle River will flow along the edge of the shelf, under the caboose, around the curve, and then out of sight behind the mine. The Belden Tunnel will start about where the furthest clip to the right is located. The entire loop will be hidden by the mine and tunnel/canyon. |
Looking the opposite direction from Belden. The lower line heads to Minturn Yard. The upper line heads to Red Cliff which will be in the corner, below the 2nd deck shelf. |
Looking towards Minturn from Red Cliff. The lower level is the yard lead to Minturn. The upper level climbs above Minturn and eventually makes a sweeping 270 degree turn, passes over itself, and lands on the upper deck. |
Another view of the east end of Minturn Yard. |
Looking up from the Eagle River at the yard. The 270 degree turn onto the second deck is at the opposite end of the yard. |
Here's a close-up of the big loop to the second deck. The piece of flex track indicates where the bridge will be located... eventually... |
Red Cliff will be on the lower deck in the corner. Tenn Pass tunnel and yard will be on the upper deck. |
Final view of Minturn Yard. |
