Thanks to my friend and yours, Bill Kepner... |
We have some interior shots of the Antonito Car
Repair Facility. |
You can see the equipment on the North slab of
Cement. In the groove next to the slab of cement is where the Track
will come into the shop. |
They hope to put in another slab of cement next
summer. |
This is the south side of the shop. |
And this is the back wall facing East. |
This place is huge, what a great facility. |
Looking thru one of the West doors to the old Car
Repair Facility.. Old Fort Knox. |
How about 487 in Antonito on Saturday the 6th. |
Ole' 487 was under Jeremy and Ronnie's control
that day... |
This has to be my Favorite Locomotive. |
Friday after the big rain on Thursday and I
thought I would share some views of Antonito with you. |
There's 494. |
Locomotive 487's Cab and Tender were cleaned today
in Antonito, I am sure you can see the shine on clean black paint. |
The Depot in Antonito, I like this shot. |
The Rain stays behind in this parking lot. |
And thanks to the puddle's, I got some great
reflection shots of the depot. |
Monday the 8th of August, Osier, Colorado. |
Steve Montano and I have 487 today on train 2 from
Chama to Osier... |
A nose shot of 487 against the blue Colorado skies
in Osier. |
Shop Foreman Steve Montano. |
Good Ole' 487... |
Another shot of Steve Montano. Thats the face of a
Veteran Railroader. |
We are waiting for Train 1 and then 487 and I will
switch over to the Mainline and take control of Train 4 for a return
to Antonito, Colorado. |
I caught a Quick picture of Antonito Ticket Agent
Ronnica taking down the flags before heading for home and calling it
a day. |
Robert and Julian prepare to leave Osier, Colorado
ahead of Train 215. |
And there they go, and in the Flat behind is all
their tools. |
Fire Patrol sits on the siding in Osier.. |
And behind the Fire Patrol is the Ballast
regulator. |
The Ballast Regulator followed the Train to
Cumbres, where it will do some testing runs on Weed Control... |
A view from the Seat of the Ballast Regulator. |
The Fire Patrol sits in the siding and we are glad
it has not been needed as we have not had any fire's. |
A view of the Regulator. |
Looking forward ahead of the Regulator at Osier,
Colorado. |
Another view of the Fire Patrol. |

for the visit and I will be back to Durango to visit them in a week
or two.... and I will be sure to get alot of picture's. |
The Rain rolled into Antonito again today Thursday
the 11th, we had a Downpour. |
The first rain came in before the train came into
town and the second downpour is visible in the background, it rolled
in about 8:00 p.m.. |
You can see how much rain came down, the tracks
were actually covered when we first came into town, I had to wait a
while to get these shots. |
Oh, Oh... the Docents are out of Uniform and were
on the prowl today on the train... there's Chuck and Rich and Mike. |
More views of the rain... |
It literally flooded the parking lot and over the
tracks to the road. |
The rain continues to flow across the tracks and
under as in this case... can you see the tiny whirlpool. |
We are lucky the Parking lot and Loop is level, or
we may have had a washout in the yard. |
I just love this Caboose, just can't get enough
picture's of it. |
I can't wait to see this thing rolling along the
tracks. |
And a shot of the Antonito Depot, here comes that
storm... |
Now how about this Beautiful
Caboose in Lake City, Colorado. |
I love the detail work, this is a
Amazing restoration in Progress. |
A look at the coupler pocket and
draft gear inside. |
This is a great museum and the
Caboose is a valuable addition for the museum... |
I love the single window in the
Cupola. |
The work is ongoing and I will go
back for more picture's later. |
I actually went thru the museum,
but took these picture's outside the grounds from the alley way. |
Its a beautiful Caboose and I am
so glad it is being restored, |
Yup, its a Railroad Tie with three
Tie Plate marks on it... I wonder where they got that one from... |
The tie's are all over the
Building and were used very cleverly in the structure.
Thanks to Adrian who so graciously
let me take all the pictures I wanted... |
