Here are my Great Buddies, who took me along for a Motorcar ride on the Durango & Silverton.

We are in Taos, New Mexico and home to Jeff's Joint.... the Best Beef in Northern New Mexico....

Hey its Jeff Stebbins in a Apron, a little bit different from his bibs on the train...

Its one of the C&T Website's Honored Friends, MVP Laura Kammerer, I would like to wish her a very great new year at school and best wishes, Take care and good luck!

Oh and I am working on the Hooded pullover!!!!

Well thanks to my Friend Dean, I have a Picture of John Martinez and Myself on the D&S, what a great shot, I love it.

Fireman Marvin Valdez on the Fire Patrol makes a quick stop at Lava, New Mexico....

Well how about a few detail shots for the Modelers.

There is a shot from every side.....

Both of the lenses.

And the handle...

I hope this works for the viewers of this website....

And another...

This is the bottom of the lamp, but I had to lighten it up a bit.

Hey check this out, A Frisco Caboose in New Mexico....

That's right, this wooden Frisco Caboose has been a resident of Taos for quite a few years now and sits next to the Highway... Ain't she a beauty.

Jeff and his Beautiful Wife in the kitchen of Jeff's Joint, thru this place passes the Best Beef in New Mexico....

When he not running trains on the C&T, Jeff is Cooking and what great cooking it is!!!!!!

This place in "100% Twinky Approved", stop in for some great chow.

It was a cool day in Taos, raining and such, but Jeff's Joint was going full blast, the Best Beef in the Taos area...

The Motorcars depart Antonito for Chama.

These are beautiful machines, I am glad they have survived.

Helping each other out....

There goes that custom built. I think that is a cool Motorcar...

A simple design that works so well and continues to ride the railroad....

There go my buddies....

Motorcar 2038.....

And thanks to Matt & Amber Moharich, we have a shot of a beautiful Garrett Locomotive, thank you so much, I love shots like these and you can send me as many as you want... Thanks.

Welcome to Lava Pump House, erected in 1883.

One of the pump device's in the House.

The south side of the House facing the river.

Two windows on the south side..

Another view of the south side.

The east side.... where the builders stone is.

The West Switch.. Lava, New Mexico....

A remote switch, ever waiting for the next train.

Looking West, every rail, every spike, every tie is important...

The arroyo at Lava..... looking to Antonito.

The track crew was here... they made repairs here, you can see the soil work that was done...

Milepost 292....

Track work.... the Track Crew was here.......

The milepost looks great doesn't it....  I remember a time when the mileposts were faded and such, then the Friends came along, I doubt they will ever fade again!!!!!

Narrow Gauge track work.....

Durango & Silverton Motorcar 333.... it will lead the way for the Motorcars.

Another Beautiful Rio Grande Motorcar.

There's Dean and 2038.

And Paul and 2038.

Good Ole' 2038, I love this Motorcar, gave a great ride....

There's Philip and MT-14L3 "Sunni".

We have stopped for a break and to meet the Durango & Silverton track inspector.

Use the restroom and stretch your legs.

And here he comes, D&S Legend John Martinez.

Hello to John, John is a Hero of mine... 42 years with railroad...  I am completely speechless around this Guy, he is somebody who I admire and look up to.. just like my own Grandfather he is a great railroader..

Hey somebody's peeking thru the window!!!!

Getting ready to roll....

Running thru the Highline and soon we will be at Rockwood.

Coming into Rockwood, the Motorcar in front has the red flag out to slow the group down...

We are at Rockwood and are turning the motorcars, we will stay in the clear for the morning train out of Durango.

We have just back into the clear on the wye and if you look closely, that is actually a Stub Switch there in front of us. I will have more picture's for you in the next update.

Locomotive 484 and Engineers Marvin Casias and Jeremy Garcia bring the train around the lower section of Lava Curve....

Welcome to La Jara, Colorado... home to this Flanger on Display, not sure of its number though.

If you drive north from Antonito 14 miles to La Jara, then turn east onto Colorado 135, cross the tracks and turn north unto the first street you can find this Flanger...

I wish it was more visible, it seems to be hiding....

Its just off the Mainline and next to the Old Rio Grande Depot..

It needs a little work, but is still a Beautiful piece of machinery..

It is retired now, but I am sure this piece of equipment saw a great deal of work in the Rio Grande days.

Stop in someday and say hi to this Flanger...

Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Locomotive 5030, 501 tons and 74 inch drivers... easily capable of 70 miles an hour.

Two Air compressors on the front end.

A look at the Mechanical lubricator and its driving rod.

A look at the Power reverse...

The Main rod and Eccentric crank and eccentric rod.

The crosshead and combination lever and union link... could you imagine this thing running back and forth at 70 miles an hour.  Cool!!!!!

The Expansion link....

Its those 74 inch drivers....

The Trailing truck, I love the design work on the casting, its a beauty.

A look at the firebox and staybolts and rivets, beautiful work.

Another look at the running gear, love this machine, what a beauty..

And, on display in Santa Fe, New Mexico..

Thanks to Donald J. Wawrzyniak, we have a beautiful shot of 487, thanks Donald and thanks for visiting the site.

Have a Great Labor Day and best wishes... Twinky has left the Computer..
