Welcome to 2005, I was Very Thrilled and Honored to spend a few days with my adopted family in Pagosa Springs.. one day they took me for a Horse ride. Here is the Apple of my Eye, Jessica on her horse for the day.

Monday January 10th 2005....

Welcome to a new feature of the Shops Website, Daily Pictures from Antonito Colorado.. Today we finished the repairs on car 503 and you can see it rolling pass the Antonito Water Tank as we switched it over to the finished line of cars on the main line.

It was a bit breezy today.. light rain shower and blue skies with fast moving clouds.

A look at the Antonito Water Tank..

and a view of the yard in Antonito...

To the left car 503 rolls toward the other passenger cars.

Tuesday January 11th 2005....

Well here's today's shot of the Friends Car Repair Building, There was some heavy cloud cover today in Antonito.

Looking west, you can see the storm clouds that are just hanging on the San Juan Mountains, we heard there is close to 10 feet of snow on Cumbres Pass.

A view of the Car Repair shop, we did have some nice Sunshine today.

And here is the Pettibone Machine parked in front of the Building we call Fort Knox. We had the Pettibone up and running, more to come later????

Looking toward the Water Tank and the clouds hanging on the San Juan Mountains. These pictures were taken around 11:30 A.M..

Now it is about 3:30 P.M. and the clouds are rolling in Antonito, we did get a light snow and rain today.

Well its afternoon Tuesday the 11th and the clouds and snow are starting to hit Antonito,

As of the 5:30 P.M. and earlier, Cumbres Pass was closed because of Avalanche Danger and the Highway Crews have been putting up quite a fight to keep the road open. The Highway Crews have been going 24 hours, 7 days to try to keep the road open.

Antonito Shop Update, Jan 11th 2005: Today we continued work on car 505, we finished rebuilding the draft gear on the A-side and re-installed it into the car frame. we also added some metal plates underneath the interior paneling to support the gates and doors on the platforms. Now we are waiting for new wheels which are stranded out of town due to the heavy snows, so we lowered the A-side of car 505 and lifted the B-side and will began work on the draft gear and trucks on that side.

Wednesday January 12th 2005.....

We had a little snow overnight, not much.. but it was a cold morning.

The Antonito Friends Car Repair Shop sits against the cold blue skies of Antonito.

The coal stove in the shop is going full blast trying to keep us warm..

Just before 5:00 P.M., the sky cleared and the Temperature dropped, its cold now.. and its going to get colder, the sky is crystal clear.

Antonito Shop Update, Jan 12th 2005:  We continued work on car 505, the B-Side Draft Gear needed some work, it had some uneven wear so we are working on that, we also began work on the interior, checking all the seats and windows, we also built up some wear on the B-side trucks and centerplate.
