Here I am on 484 Opening day, May 28th, 2005.

I would like to thank David Dickey for these Great Shots, I otherwise would never see...

Another of David's Shots as Train 2 and 484 and Me climb Cumbres nearing the second Highway 17 road crossing.

Friday the 11th and I am in Osier, I ran the Special Cumbres & Toltec Train to carry the Passengers who came into Antonito on the private Railcars on the San Luis & Rio Grande Railroad from Walsenburg.

The Passengers split into Groups and took turns on the Galloping Goose and the Special Passenger Train.

Doing a Photo Run at Lobato for the Private Railcar Passengers,

Arrival of the Special Train in Chama.

You can see the consist of the Train... The Passengers were all great people, I got to ride with a Group in the Morning and a second group in the Afternoon on the bus to and from Chama.

Caboose 0306 looks great.

When I returned back to Antonito, Galloping Goose 5 was refueling at the Cumbres & Toltec Fuel Dock.

They had to run the Hose thru the window of the Goose.

Take a close look, Galloping Goose 5 is actually on the new Track that will continue to the Antonito Car Repair Facility.

I had a great time and I hope you like the Picture's.

Galloping Goose 5 was kinda thirsty, she stayed at the Gas Pump for a while.

its nice to have the Goose visit.

Ain't that a great shot,

How about the Interior of Goose 5...

Another Interior shot.

A look at the Wheels and Brake Shoes.

Galloping Goose 5 stayed inside on track 3 in the Antonito Car Shop.

A look at the Nose of Number 5.

I love this Machine.

Now I tried my Best to get some interior shots of the Controls for you.

How about this one...

Another view of the Controls.

You can see the pedals and gauges and such.

The Crew does maintenance and checks the fluids.

Soon Goose 5 will be ready for the Run up the Cumbres & Toltec Again.

A look at Number 5 inside Track 3.

Now a view of the Motor on 5.

Two Locomotives of the San Luis & Rio Grande Railroad come into the Antonito Yard Limits right next to my Yard.

They are here to pick up the Special Train of Private Railcars.

Locomotives 805 & 804 are under the control of Engineer Matt Cutter and Conductor Marc Widener. They are crossing 10th Avenue right in front of my House in Antonito.

The Locomotives arrive at the Cumbres & Toltec Station.

Locomotive 494 welcomes the Visiting Diesel Locomotives.

Now we decided to have a Special Photo Shoot, Where else can you park a Rio Grande Galloping Goose next to a Mainline Diesel Locomotive????

That is History your looking at, the Past of Railroading and the Present of Railroading. From a Goose to a Diesel Locomotive.

How about that, A Cumbres & Toltec Train, A Rio Grande Southern Galloping Goose and a Private Railcar Train with San Luis & Rio Grande Diesel Locomotive's.

I ask you again, where else could you get a Photo like this.

Two Railroad Workhorses of the past and present.

I loved this Opportunity, its not often that I can get picture's like these..

and better yet, I can share them with you!!!!

Galloping Goose number 5 and San Luis & Rio Grande 804 & 805 in Antonito, Colorado.

This was early morning saturday before the Private Railcar Train departed from Antonito where it spent two nights next to the Antonito Depot.

It was so nice to have this train in Antonito and all the Passengers were so Nice and Friendly.

The Crew of the Private Railcars were also very nice, I enjoyed talking with them.

Soon 804 will lead the Train to Alamosa and on to Monte Vista and to Center, Colorado over the San Luis Central Railroad.

And guess what??? I have picture's from Onboard 804 enroute to Alamosa and of the Train traveling around the Valley!!!!!

Well here I am south of Buena Vista Colorado on the Arkansas River.

Check me out in a Wetsuit, Helmet, Splash Jacket and Life Vest... yes I am going white water rafting for my Birthday.

I would like to Thank Arkansas Valley Adventure's for this Awesome trip down the River, I loved it!!!!

Here I am going down the River, I must admit I was a little scared at first, but thanks to the Pro's at AVA Rafting, I soon calmed down and had a blast getting wet.

Now I was very lucky to be drifting down the River next to the old Rio Grande Tracks over Tennessee Pass.

It is considered very lucky if you can touch this Railroad bridge with your Oar, I missed...

Another Raft full of People enjoying the Arkansas thanks to AVA Rafting ride the river next to us.

Now, I tell you I had a Blast, it was fun... all the staff of AVA Rafting are fun and friendly and very Professional.. AVA is a Top Knotch Company and I would highly recommend them to anybody who wants to White Water Raft..

Another Bridge for the Railroad crosses a Small Creek entering the Arkansas River.

Here I am on the Raft with other Guest .

Now look closely at the Picture, can you see the face in the rocks up above...

I had the time of my life here on the raft, I fully plan on returning soon and I will be back to ride with the Staff at AVA Rafting.

Hey, this water proof camera did a great job,

See the Speed Limit sign on the tracks above, 25 miles an hour and heading downgrade.

Looking back at a Raft following us thru the rapids.

Man, I am a scrappy looking guy.. I am surprised I didn't break my camera....

A look down stream at the river and the tracks to the left.

We actually got out for a break and hiked up the river a little while, my Guide Troy Wigginton took the time to explain our course thru a rather difficult section of river.. This guy was a great source of history and information on our whole trip. What a great Guy.

After passing thru the difficult section, we sit back and enjoy the rest of the ride..

Back at AVA rafting, AVA is Located on Highway 24, a few miles North of Buena Vista, Colorado on the Arkansas River.

You can see the Transportation AVA has available, I loved the whole adventure, we boarded the buses and were taken to the River and also rode the Bus on our return to The AVA outpost.

Here is the Supply Area at AVA, everything is Supplied: Wetsuits, Splash Jackets, Helmets and Coast-Guard Approved Life Jackets.

Now these are that Great, but here are a few shots of the Display in Breckenridge, Colorado.

I am not sure if everything is correct, but I just wanted to share the photographs with you....

This is the Display off the road, its a nice set up..

A look at 111, it s a Beautiful Locomotive...

A shot of the Nose of 111.

A view of the Cylinders.

Now I must say the Cab is clean well taken care of.

The Locomotive is in very Good Cosmetic Condition, well taken care of.

A look from the opposite side.

Its a Beautiful Locomotive, too bad these locomotives are just sitting in a Park, to bad we couldn't restore every Locomotive still in existence to running condition.

How about a look at the Rotary Wheel. I hope you enjoyed these Picture's.

Welcome to Tiny's Cafe in Ojo Caliente, New Mexico.

Here is David Lucero, Amanda Moe and Jenny Lucero... in front of this now very famous restaurant.

Movie Actress Jennifer Tilly visited the Hot Springs at Ojo Caliente and fell in love with the food at Tiny's Cafe... you can see her story on the March 2005 Issue of Conde Nast Traveler.

More shots of the Track working on Track One in Antonito, they replaced and added ties from the Shop door to the Switch.

Thanks guys, the Track is alot sturdier now..

The Old Rat Patrol Motor Car at Sublette.

Locomotive 487 performs pre-season duty at Sublette.

We were actually moving cars over the line.

Once in a while, I take Pictures with Passengers for myself and why did I take a picture with this Young Lady????
