Welcome once again to "The Village Bean" Its where I go to get my Coffee in the morning... I love the stuff!!   Anyway, the greatest thing about work is working with my fellow Employee's and meeting all those new people everyday. Some of those people have become very wonderful friends to me. On top of that, I have also enjoyed getting to know Chama as a second home to me... well today I walked into the "Bean" and met another amazing person named Samantha Whitchurch.... so say hi to Samantha!!!!!

Thanks again to Chris McEwan we have another collection of shots, this is a beautiful shot taken at Sunset in Antonito by Chris...

We have just finished doing a run-by in the Antonito Yard. I decided to jump up on the running boards to get a shot for you... this is what it looks like from the whistles point of view....

Jeff Stebbins looks to the rear from 488's Cab.

Locomotive 488 is ready to roll with the Charter Freight train.

A close up shot of 488 at Milepost 289, we have stopped to pick up our passengers after a run-by.

Perfect time to jump out and get a shot for you out there in Internet Land.

And we are lucky to have a shot of my friend Chris, best friend.... his lovely wife Paula.. everybody say hi to Paula....

Locomotive 488 sits on the grade above 289.

I had a great time on the freight run, had a super fun time...

Now we are making our way across the mesa heading to Lava Tank.

There I am doing a inspection and oiling 488 in Antonito.

A look at the Movie Water Tank at Lobato Siding.

Thanks again to Chris Mc Ewan for these great shots.

This is the Sister Caboose to the one I found on Display in Taos, New Mexico.. thanks to Fred Tefft for the shot of this one being restored. I hope to have more detailed shots of the caboose in Taos coming up soon!

These Caboose's used to sit outside Durango off the Railroad, but have since been moved to Silverton, that is a Awesome House there....

There is good ole' 493, these really are great locomotives and I would to have 497 or 492 back in service.

Some of the equipment on display in Silverton, that silver one is a water car.

Now a few views of Galloping Goose Number 5 in Silverton.

The Goose had turned on the wye and is backing to the Silverton Depot, in the background is the group of Motorcars.

The crew looks over Number 5.

Another view of Number 5 in Silverton...

The business end of 472, love the lights.. I know there was alot of debate on the paint on this Locomotive, but I must admit.. I really loved the way 472 came out. I think the Guys in Durango did a Beautiful Job with this Locomotive.

472 and its train is in the siding for a meet at Rockwood.

Locomotive 481 with Engineer Joe Dailey and Fireman John Hillie roll into Rockwood.

Locomotive 481 passes 472 at Rockwood.

With Josh aboard, A diesel locomotive switches the Durango Yard.

Now a new crew takes charge to switch their train...  Fireman John Hillie keeps a eye on the trains movement thru the yard.

I will be back to Durango in future updates and thanks to the crews at Durango for being so helpful and friendly everytime I visit.

Why is it that... some of the most heart-warming smiles are to be found in the Village Bean???????

After a double-header on Thursday, Locomotive 488 is on the siding with Train 216 and on the Mainline is 484...

484 had run ahead of Train 216 and 488 into Osier.

Now 484 is running ahead of 488 and train 216 into Antonito.

Friday we had a special train for legislature's from both state's and 484 was used to run the special train back to chama, while 488 powered the regular train on saturday.

After stopping to throw the switch to the main to let themselves onto the Mainline, 484 will then throw the switch back to the siding and continue onto Antonito.

Overnight in Antonito with both 484 and 488....

A view into the shop as Nightwatchmen Elipio Duran service's 484.

Welcome to Del Norte, Colorado on the old Rio Grande mainline to Creede.

Just off the mainline to the west of the depot is what's left of a switch that lead to a shed.

The view of the depot from the North side, it now houses the towns office's.

It is a Beautiful building and is well taken care of.

Milepost 283 just west of the depot.

Looking east toward the Depot in Del Norte.

And a lonely switch stand off the main.... number 717. Hope you enjoyed your short visit to Del Norte, Colorado.

Steam Locomotive 315 in Durango. A close shot of the new pilot.

A look at the Steam Dome Cap.

A complete view of 315.

A look at the Engineer's Cylinder and Valve Gear.

The boiler appears to have been mapped already.

A look at the front end of 315.

This is one of the Trucks from under the Tender.

Looking past the Firebox and boiler to the Tender.

A view of the ashpan, rear suspension and firebox.

The rear coupler of 315.

The left side Crosshead and Piston rod.

A look at the Pilot truck rigging.

And a view of the Tender. I will try to get more for you in the future.

Once again, a Bright smile from the Village Bean....

More shots from the Freight Special.

Locomotive 488 takes a breather just west of Toltec Creek and Calico Cut.

Rio Grande 488.

How about those Fall colors, the Aspens were beautiful this year and they lasted a long time.
