Twins in A Bel Air.... Rachel & Rebecca Hill at the Early Iron Car Show in Alamosa, Colorado....

Here's a shot of my Buddy Dean Lowe's hot rod. It is a 1929 Model A Ford Roadster Pick up. The body is an all steel original. The engine is a blown 383" small block Chevy. Dean has owned ths car for about 11 years. The picture was taken at the annual Father's day Roadster Show, held at the Pomona Fairgrounds.

What a Beauty Dean!!!!

Thanks to Jim Vliet, I have a shot of myself taken near the Hermosa Road Crossing, Can you see me in the weeds.... Thanks Jim for the Photograph and I enjoyed talking with you...

Thursdays Train up Cumbres consisted of a mixed freight/passenger train, we hauled train 216 up the hill and since the passenger train required a helper, we moved a few freight cars up the hill for the upcoming photo freight train....

I was on the Road locomotive 488 with my partner Ronnie and ahead was to oil tankers and a refrigerated boxcar and Marvin and Jose on Helper 487.

A view of the consist.

487's tender and the rest of the train.

A few closer views...

There are some places only crew members can go and thats why this website exists...

Lets climb on top of the train and see what that looks like????

Looking back over the oil tankers and 488...

Looking forward over the Refrigerator and 487...

A friend of the Twins, this Young lady actually gave me the idea for the shot of the twins, thank you so much.. I could kick myself for not getting your name.. Beautiful smile though and Thanks...

Rebecca & Rachel Hill.......

Another view of Caboose 0306.

Here is 488 and the last tanker car..

Another view forward, I wish I could have gotten a better picture, but the yard is kinda full.

After a great run, we arrived at Cumbres.. I took a picture from the cab looking forward.

Stepped off to get a picture for you all...

We are performing a brake test and 487 has already dropped off the freight on the siding at Cumbres.

Jose in on the ground to get the switch and line 487, it is now backing into the shed at Cumbres.

We are rolling to Osier, with Ronnie at the throttle and the train behind us, we pass the freight cars.

Goodbye to Cumbres.

Thursday evening in Antonito.....

Caboose 0306 sits in the evening sun.

Locomotive 488 in front of the Chama Shop... Thanks to Dave Ketchum for these great shots...

Hey its me in 484...

484 and Alan back down to the train....

Fire Patrol prepares to leave Chama behind the train.

Galloping Goose Number in front of the Durango Depot... Thanks again to Dave Ketchum for these great pictures...

Rolling across the last road crossing into Chama.

On the last platform I watch Bobby in control of the Fire Patrol.

Next to Bobby is the Famous Juke Tree.......

Fire Patrol with Bobby at the controls... its amazing I will admit something here, I have been with the railroad for 17 years and I have to admit I have almost no experience operating Motor cars... just never get a chance!!!!

Coming across the Chama River Bridge....

And we roll into the Chama yard, the Train ahead of me has already made the curve into the yard.

And we roll into Chama, Bobby will pass us to the right and turn Fire Patrol on the Wye.

Some of the machinery is still in the building at Lava...

You can see the bearing surfaces... the Babbitt bearing is still intact.

This is a tank outside the East side of the structure... not sure what its for???

Another view of the Pump House, this is amazing, the pump house sits in a lush green valley and the tank sits above in a desert.

More of the last machinery still in the pump house.

This is actually a beautiful place, worth driving in to see.

Another view of the tank outside the pump house.

This was part of a structure on the river, I was curious as to whether the river may have been dammed here a little to provide a solid source of water.

And our last view of the Lava Pump House.. hope you enjoyed your visit to this place.

Let me introduce you to D&S Engineer Ray Loose, I really like this guy, quite the gentleman...

D&S Locomotive 486 rolls thru the valley north of Durango...

I love this place, you can pace the Locomotives from the Highway...

I tell you this is a cool place to watch steam in action.

At the Throttle is Engineer Scott Shewmake and Fireman Travis Wheeler.

486 is rolling for home...

I got ahead and waited for Scott, Travis and 486 in Durango.

Coming across the last road into the station.

A little bit of switching and 486 will be done for the Day.

This is actually a great place to watch trains, especially when they are switching.

Locomotive 486 switches to the rear light and backs away from us.

Another shot of my Buddy, I am honored to know this Guy... Robby Rothschild.

Welcome to Alburquerque, New Mexico.....  This is the railway station..

And if I am correct you are looking at the new station that will serve the new Rail transportation system being put in place to serve Alburquerque..

How about this old Santa Fe building... I love old railroad architecture.

This is a Beautiful Building...

It fits well into the surrounding area and suits Alburquerque quite well.

My better half found these railroad Gems sitting in the yard...

Isn't that a Beautiful Building.

Its a Santa Fe Caboose, ain't she a Beauty.... If I contact the Mayor of Alburquerque and promise to vote for him in the coming election, do you think he will give me the Caboose..... or help me acquire it somehow!!!!

I love this shot, this place is Beautiful..

And the gateway into the station, the tracks where Amtrak comes in are just beyond the Gate...

The Headlight and Bell of 5000... Thanks again to Steven Dickey for these great shots.

The locomotive is being moved to his final place.

Track panels were used to move the locomotive.

What a crowd came out to see this machine..

The tender is moved into its final position.

Now it waits for its partner.

The track section are connected....

Slowly 5000 is turned into place...

A little bit more...

5000 begins its backward motion to the tender.

Up a little hill and back to the tender...

Some guys got lucky to ride the Cab...

Time to go home, 488, Caboose 0306 and the passenger cars sit on tracks one, two, three and four...

If you like what you see, consider a donation!!! Just a DOLLAR, nothing more and anything less would make the envelope feel funny.. P.O. Box 323, Antonito, Colorado, 81120
