Golden City & San Juan Number 4... Welcome to the Colorado railroad museum in Golden, Colorado!!

Here is good Ole' Number 40!! I was very lucky thanks to my Buddy Pat Anderson to visit the Museum.. I love the place!!

Rolling thru Long Creek with the last work train to cross the railroad from Chama to Antonito for 2006...

Over Cascade Trestle.....

These are the last of the Caboose shots and of this trip!

I hope you liked these shots...

Caboose's and Icicle's...

Caboose's at the Water Tank in Osier.....

Locomotive 487 at Osier, Colorado..

We are rolling thru the curve below Milepost 309.

The work train at Sublette, New Mexico...

Rolling up to Lava Tank on 487, 40 minute's till we get home!!

There's 14, 40 and Number 4 on the Turntable tracks at Golden.

Look at that Machinery, I love it!!

December 11th and we are working on Winterizing the 487. We have air being pumped into the firemans blowdown and are charging the boiler with air!!

The Motor Cars are wintering in Antonito.

With our bigger air compressor, we can charge the 487 to about 110 pounds, that is more than sufficient to run all the appliances in the cab and other items to clear them of water.

We run the air pump and the dynamo, we also blow out the injectors, empty the lubricators, blow out the blowdown valve's, we clear the whistle and air lines and actually run the locomotive back and forth down the track to clear the throttle's, drypipe and steam chest of water.

Dec 11th and the tender is still being worked on, old and worn metal is being removed!!

You are looking at the Valve Housing of the 489 tender water valve's!! The guys removed the housing and cut away the old metal and rivets..

A look at the front of 489's tender!!! It will be a big project, but all the old and worn metal will be replaced eventually, its going to be quite a job!!

December 11th and we are moving locomotive's around!!

Diesel 19 is putting in some time moving steam around the yard.. In this shot Diesel 19 is moving 487 with a passenger car as a Idler to the main track away from the shop... we are making room!!

We have moved 487 to the back main and we are pushing 489's tender frame into the Track 2.

Good Ole' 487.

Diesel 19 moving 487, we have to use a passenger car as a Idler because.... the snow plows of 487 and Diesel 19 do not allow coupling of the two locomotives.

Locomotive 463 sits over the ash pit, behind track 1. Now I must admit, I don't like it, but 463 will have to sit outside for a little while!! We have Locomotive 487 in Track 1, 489's tender frame in Track 2 being painted, Passenger car repair on Track 3 and 489's tender tank on Track 4.

See and everybody says we don't do any major repairs in Antonito, Antonito can be a busy shop!!

Locomotive 487 rolls into the shop, we are going to disconnect the tender of 487 and store it outside with Locomotive 463 on Track 1.

MW-02 is moving into Track 1 with locomotive 487.

See ole' Matilda is doing fine spending the winter in Antonito.

Locomotive 463 outside for a little while, I know I don't like it, but we don't have anymore room!!

Standard Number 1, even the most simple of Steam Locomotive's can be beautiful.. I would love to see this locomotive rolling around on its own power!!

December 12th and we are working on 487's pistons.

We have removed both of 487's pistons to send to Chama for adjustments.

You can see our progress in the picture's, 487 suffers from blow-by in the cylinders. we hope to solve that problem this winter.

A look at the piston inside the Firemans Cylinder of 487.

There is the Firemans piston, the rings and springs of 487.

The Engineers piston of 487.

Ronnie and I have loaded the pistons into the company truck and they will be on their way to Chama for repair.

Good Ole' Diesel 19 sits in the Antonito as the sun sets.

Colorado & Southern Caboose number 1009, this caboose is so amazing, I love it!!

Denver & Rio Grande Caboose number 0524.

We are in the interior of the Rio Grande Caboose, can you imagine the places the Caboose has been.

I love the interior of this Caboose, functional and cozy!!!

Back to Chama Steam.. while the train was on its way to Osier and back, Jeff, 487 and I put on a little show at Cumbres.

We held a unplanned photo session with 487 and Flanger 0L for some guests at Cumbres.

Locomotive 487 and Flanger 0L...

Locomotive 487 looks good with a Flanger..

Denver & Rio Grande Flanger 0L.

Locomotive 487 at Cumbres.

The sun came out and the shots look great...

I hope you are continuing to enjoy the picture's..

Locomotive 487 at Cumbres Station.

I love that Flanger... i love it when we are able to run different type's of equipment.

Good Ole' 487.

Soon we will be on our way to Chama..

Rio Grande Southern Caboose 0404... Hey on another note, check out the Dual-Gauge Switches..

Now I tell you... I would have given my you know what.... to have been able to have ridden this caboose over the RGS.

The interior of 0404.

Check out those seats, I love this thing!!!

Another view of the interior of the Caboose.. hope you enjoyed these shots.

Have a great one, the next update will be after Christmas, bless you and thanks... Carlos
