Denver & Rio Grande 3712... or at least a model of it!! Welcome to the Colorado Railroad Museum..

Rio Grande Caboose 0578, that is so cool, we have 0579 and here is 0578... I would love to see these two caboose's hooked together and riding the rails.

Oh and that fine Gentleman is Denver Police Corporal Pat Anderson, he is the great guy who drove me around Denver!! Mr. Andersons grandfather was a Engineer with C&S.

A few views of Amtrak coming into Belen, New Mexico.. Thanks to Zack for these Shots...

Now I was a bit busy for the Santa Claus Trains out of Antonito, so I would like to thank Zack Blea for his Photographs. Zack filled in for me and he covered the train ride for the Website. So thanks to Zack for these great shots.

We are on the second run of the day... the Train is crossing highway 285 and is headed for Lava Tank.

Leaving Antonito as caboose 0579 brings up the rear.

Zack is in the Cupola of Caboose 0579 as we leave town, Parlor Car attendant Coradene is chatting with my parents.

Looking down to the couplers between locomotive 487 and the passenger cars.

We have arrived at Lava Tank and will roll around to the west switch.

Passing Lava Tank, Great shot Zack!!!

Anthony is off the train at the west switch of Lava, he will throw the switch to the siding and guide Ronnie down the connecting track to reverse the train.

We have reversed the train and will head for Home... Thanks Zack and we will have more coming up next week.

Amtrak leaving Belen on the Double Iron of the BNSF.. Thanks to Zack!!

Rolling the work train out of Lava Loop...

I love how this train looked..

Rolling past Milepost 289, down Gravity hill we come!

Around the Curve below Milepost 288..

Locomotive 487 casts a shadow over Ferguson Trestle..

Arrival in Antonito, Colorado...

Two Caboose's at Golden..

I love the collection of passenger cars here.

The Denver & Rio Grande cars are beautiful..

Too bad there isn't a way where these cars could be run on the C&T and D&S for special trains.

December 20th and Sam and Anthony are applying Primer paint to the cleaned up Tender 489 frame... this is to prevent rust!

The frame is complete, we need to replace a few sections of metal and rebuild the trucks.

December 20th and we are replacing old metal with new metal on 489 tender tank.

The old metal has been cut away and we will replace it!!

Outside the weather is vicious... Diesel 19 stands its ground, but is slowly being covered with snow!

Locomotive 463 sits outside!

Locomotive 463 and Tender 487..

The passenger cars sit on the mainline!

Snow falls on the Dual Gauge display..

Snow on the Antonito Depot..

D&RGW and snow on the Idler Flatcar..

Good Ole' 19 sits under snow, we ended up getting about 10 inches from this storm.

We are beginning to replace the old metal with new metal.. we actually bent this curve in the metal ourselves..

You can see the new lower section tack welded to the tank.

The new sheets are going in, now I am unsure why we go thru this much work to save a old tender.. so I can't give you a answer as to why we just don't build a new tank. I do like the fact that we are saving as much of the old as possible.

The new sheet below and the original tank above.

Max is making a measurement on a piece of sheet metal we are going to cut... we are actually inside the tank of the tender, look forward and you can see the backside of the coal bunker, that will be replaced later also..

The new side sheets are in place...

Welcome back to the Colorado railroad Museum..

Locomotive 491...

I love this, this is a test weigh car... I am glad that survived into preservation.

Another Caboose, I love Caboose's.

I love this, Rio Grande Southern car Rico..

I love this one, this is a beauty of a locomotive..

I love the curve of the nose.

I love the old car in the back and a newer Rio Grande locomotive, there are so many stages of history in this museum.

I would love to have seen this pulling a train at speed... I missed so much!

I love the Silver and Yellow, such a great combination!!!

Can I borrow this someday??? If anybody in charge is reading this, I would love to borrow this for little while.

October 18th and Marvin and I are rolling back to Osier onboard the Ballast Regulator.

Rolling thru Columbine Cut.

Under Osier Mountain...

And back into the yard at Osier, Colorado.

On the siding in Osier, Colorado.

We will put the Regulator back on the Spur for the track Crew.

I hope you like this ride on the Regulator.

Osier Tank, it will sit here gathering ice till next spring...

BNSF burning up the snowy rails near Belen, New Mexico... Thanks again to Zack Blea for these great shots...

I will see ya guys next week, sorry for the delay on the website, I was stranded in Alburquerque during the snowstorm.. Again I would like to remind my friends, if you had a Website link on the front page, please send your website address back to me and I will add it again to the front page, I lost some info!!
