Manitou & Pike's Peak Railway Locomotive Number 2. Now I tell you what, I would love to see these Locomotives up Pike's Peak.. that would Amazing.

Thank to my Buddy Casey who sent this shot for the Website.

You Remember Casey, she is one of the Engineers who started my training on the Standard Gauge, I must say I was thoroughly Impressed with Casey. She completely amazed me with her skill and train handling, I would love to see her on a Steam Locomotive, she has a smooth hand on the throttle and brake stand, I know she could run steam Beautifully.

Now this is a Great Shot of Cumbres, Winter Sundown... by Our Friend Steven Dickey

Welcome to the Chama shop.. I made a visit to the shop on February the 26th of 2006... I would like to thank Steve Montano as he and Ed took the time to open the shop on one of their day offs so I could get these shots for you..

The work being done in here is amazing, these Locomotives are going to run like Champs this year.

Your looking at 484, she is having a axle changed on one of her drivers and I will show you those shots later.

Locomotive 484 was a smooth Locomotive, I can hardly wait to run her with her new adjustments.

Now you are looking at 488, she is in the process of warming up, her boiler is full of water and the "Locomotive Life Support" is hooked up slowly warming and circulating hot water into the boiler. The guys, with the FRA around plan to do a Hydro-test on the Boiler, they just want to make sure it will have no leaks at all this year.

A quick peak at 484's open Smokebox... 484's pilot trucks are still being worked.. I will show you picture's soon.

Another look at 484, the guys will be doing alot of work on her drivers.

The 484 was timed very well, but the guys might still get her a little better...

Now we are looking at one of 487's driver axle's, they guys are truing the Journal surface and Tire surface, once this is done the axle will be moved to another machine to Quarter the Pins.

It is amazing to see a Driver set like this, now this is very heavy, its a wonder how the guys move them so precisely.

I hoped to get you as close as possible, so you could see the cleaned surface of the Tire... Beautiful work.

How about a few views of the shop, just to get inside the picture's.

Now you are looking at the machine being used to true the Tire's and Journals. If you look closely, you can actually see the Clean surface and the old surface of the Journal.

Another close-up of the Machine.

Looking past 488 to the 484...

A look at a pile of "Shoe's and Wedge's" for the Locomotive's.

488 and 484 and some drivers in the shop.

One by one the axle's are being trued and cleaned up.

Now I finally combined my Balloon picture's and the Railroad.... the last weekend of February was the Snowball Balloon Rally in Chama, New Mexico.

Thanks to Clarke O'Bryne and his Balloon "Viento Encantado",  I was able to fly 800 feet above Chama. I would also like to thank the Parlor Car Bed & Breakfast in Chama for sponsoring the Balloon and providing us with room and board for the Pilot and his wife Ailene and the crew.

I really love this place, visit the Parlor Car with Wendy and Bonsall as your host in Chama, New Mexico...

We are drifting just above the Wye and Stockyards in Chama. It was a thrill to see Chama and the Railroad from high above.

Now a look at the Chama Yard from 800 feet above the ground. Now be patient, I will have a few more in the next update.

Thanks to Steven Dickey for another collection of his Picture's. A look at Los Pinos in December of last year....

Frisco Locomotive 1630... Thanks to Bill Noe for a look at his Collection of Picture's.

Illinois Central 201, A 1880 Commuter Locomotive 2-4-4RT. A Rogers built locomotive, 56.5 inch drivers, fueled by coal and capable 11,862 pounds of Tractive effort.

I like this one, Locomotive 2407.

And yes, I love that Caboose...

Absolutely Beautiful, what it would have been like to ride on passenger cars like these...

Again Thanks to Bill Noe..

A beautiful look at the area of Milepost 329 near Cumbres, thanks again to Steven Dickey.

Welcome to Madrid, New Mexico... A area rich in Coal Mining History.

The Old Coal Mine Museum is a Amazing collection of Mining Equipment, if you like mining equipment, this is a Treasure trove for you!!!

A mining cart sits in the sun. I was amazed at all the different types of equipment.

A mining truck, it has seen its better days.. but its a beautiful relic.

I liked this Mining Locomotive, its pretty big....

Now this is a great find, A old Volunteer Fire-truck... at some moment in time, this truck protected the citizens of this area, carrying volunteer fireman.. It served a great service and carried a great bunch of men, too bad its not in mint condition in the Smithsonian...

Another view of that locomotive...

This place is just a great collection of stuff... check out the frog for a mining switch.. they are all over the place..

I will have more picture's from Madrid in coming updates.

Another Shot of the Parlor Car Bed & Breakfast in Chama, New Mexico... Thanks to Wendy and Bonsall Johnson for sharing their Beautiful B&B with us...

Visit the Parlor Car at www.parlorcar.com. Call for info at 1-505-756-1946 or 1-888-849-7800.

Welcome to the New Mexico State Fair Grounds... I came upon these and thought I would share the story with you.

It was a long story, I thought I would just share the whole thing with you!

I am sorry about the picture's, I had to shoot into the sun....

The Organization was lucky to find a second car for parts.

I love this system, I have always wanted to run a train hooked up like this, just to see if it feels different.

Here is a shot of the wheel and its set-up, love the single axle...

I hope you enjoyed these shots, I love the detail in things and when I walked by these cars about two month's ago I knew I wanted to get back and take shots of them for you out there in Internet Land.

Hope you enjoyed the picture's.

Here is Steven's Dog, I love this shot, its a great one.... Thanks to Steven for these great shots..

See you next week.... Carlos Llamas
