Hey have another shot of my Buddy Trini Dominguez at work....

Say hello to Phil, Tyson and Marc.... three guys I have been honored to work with on the SL&RG.  Phil headed for Sunny California, I would like to wish him the best of luck... Thanks for everything Phil.

I told a Friend I would get a T-shirt for them... here it is being signed! Told you so.....

Back to Chama, New mexico...

The guys are truing the Journals and tire's of 487's driver axle's..

I tried to get a good close view of the work, I have always felt this kind of machining is simply beautiful, a work of art....

A look at the front end of 484.

The guys are still working on the Pilot Trucks, actually I am sure they are done and are just awaiting installation.

This is 488's removed tanks....

Look up at the top of the steam dome, there is a hose connected to top there, that line is helping circulate water thru the boiler as it warms up for the Hydro-test.

Now we are in the machine shop, the guys are machining the Babbitt down on a brass for a Journal.

This is great, remember the 484 had a axle that needed to be repaired, well here is the replacement.

This is one of 487's driver axle's, the Tire's and Journals have been trued and now the Crank pins are being Quartered.

You can see how the Axle is mounted into the Machine.

This is huge piece of machinery on another piece of machinery.

Now look closely here, there is a machined piece of metal there, see it, looks like a diamond of sorts... well that is going to solve a problem...

That diamond will be placed into this eccentric crank, right where the arrow points to, then it will be welded solid into place. After all is done, a new hole properly centered will be machined for the crank pin.

A freshly quartered crank pin.

Another look at 487's driver axle.

These are the finished Bissell Post, they have been trued and with a sleeve will be ready for installation on a Locomotive.

Look three picture's down and you can see a finished and installed Bissell Post.

How about those Blueprints.....

You are looking at a Journal on one of 487 driver axles being trued... The Clean metal is what has been cut and the blue paint is what needs to be cut.

Here is 488, she went thru a Boiler Hydro-test and I will let you know how that went.. but, if you also look closely.. you will see the Air Tank is removed, the guys have found the tanks are getting old and thin, so they are in the process of making new one's.. I will show you the results as soon as possible.

Here is a finished and installed Bissell Post.

These young ladies got right to work on signing this T-Shirt.. thanks Ladies..

Hey welcome to Chama, 800 feet off the ground..

Thanks to my Friend Clarke O'Bryne and his Balloon, I was able to get these shots for you.

Here's a look at the Wye in Chama.

This is as close as I could get to the yard... can you see all the structure's you normally see from the ground.

The Balloons drift over Chama.

Another view of the Wye, I liked this shot, you can see alot of details in the stockyards.

Say Hi to Nita...

"Viento Encantado" comes in for a soft landing..

Onboard is Pilot and Owner Clarke O'Bryne, Parlor Car B&B Owner and sponsor Bonsall Johnson and of course...Me!

Drifting over Chama, New Mexico.

The Balloon seems to drift next the the Balloons Flag.

Looking right up into the envelope of the Balloon.

Carl is holding the Banner, Nancy to the left is packing up the envelope and Sponsor Bonsall is waving at the camera and I had a great time.

Michelle signed the shirt and took time for a picture...

February 26th and a look at Cresco..

Cumbres Station in the White stuff..

Here is a view from the Highway.

The Car Repairmans House.

Another look at Cumbres and the Height of the snow on the side of the road.

A close view of Cresco, again this was February 26th, 2006.

Thanks Ladies,

I will have another batch of Chama Shop picture's next week, take car and see ya later... Carlos
