Say Hello to Savannah everybody, Savannah was a part time employee with the company and is now heading back to High School. Best Wishes to you Savannah, we will miss you...

Locomotive 484 is hooked to the ballast hoppers in Antonito.

This is the interior of one of the EBT hoppers, these two need a little work, but they are great cars and work very well.

Now I must say, we are very grateful for that new track going to the Antonito Car Repair Facility, it gives us a place to park a complete second train when both train sets are in Town.

Another look at those EBT hoppers, Ronnie and Marvin have been working on them, the 3/4 couplers are a little hard to work with!!! In my experience, these cars dump ballast beautifully.

Diesel 19 has been doing her share this year, that locomotive never quits, it goes and goes... some people talk about some of the steam locomotives as the most valuable locomotives on the property, in my opinion, your looking at the most valuable locomotive on the property, that 19 has come thru for us so many times.

A hard working and valuable locomotive resting under a rainy sky in Antonito.

I am on the main headed to Cumbres with a Passenger train as we pass the track crew and the tie gang in the siding at Los Pinos.

There is Rudy, after we pass, they will pull back out unto the main and get back to work replacing ties. In the picture, you can see some of the ties that will be replaced.

On extremely rainy days, we send Fire Patrol ahead as Rock Patrol. Today, Mike Morse was on his way out of town. Mike has become a great addition to the crew, he first joined us as a docent, then took the slot that had opened on the Fire Patrol. He is a retired fireman and fit right in with the crews.

Locomotive 487 pauses at Sublette, New Mexico.

Ronnie steps down from the cab.

It was sprinkling that day and 487 shows a shine on her plow from the moisture.

Once in a while, I realize how lucky I am... I do forget that I can walk around this amazing railroad anytime I like and soak in all this history... so, I wanted to share something I stumbled across the other day.. just another view of railroading on the C&T.

Locomotive 487 sits outside the servicing stall in Antonito waiting for her nightwatchman to come on duty.

Locomotive 484 waits in Osier for the Train from Antonito to arrive.

Locomotive 487 has arrived from Antonito with train 1, it had a load of ties at the rear and is now backing that load into the loop at Osier.

Locomotive 487 and Brakeman Anthony Jiron.

The blue skies of Colorado and 484's headlight.

The Caboose Lewis Entz sits in Chama, that paint still looks like a million dollars..

Is anybody curious as to how the coal gets to Antonito...

Well, here are the facts... Truck and driver based out of Farmington, drives over to Hesperus, picks up a load and is in Antonito the same morning.

One truck load fills a bin and we have two bins in Antonito.

Three employees and a Locomotive... Greg, Sam and Mike in Chama.

Locomotive 488 preparing for a double-header up Cumbres.

Now about a few shots of 489 in the shop.

You are looking at the work being done to map the strength of the boiler.

This section has yet to be completed.

A close up of the ultra-sound numbers.

The rear firemans side of the firebox. You can see the pattern of the Staybolts.

The Rear end of the boiler, you can see the firebox door and the rear flue sheet inside.

A Interior look at the smokebox of 489.

Its pretty spooky to see the locomotives in this shape, a lot of work still to be done on this project.

Locomotive 489 in the Chama Shop, I will keep you informed on this project in the next updates.

I am on the passenger coming down from Cumbres, I have just started off Lobato Trestle and will soon pass the Goose on the siding.

Thought you might like a few views of the Goose. Here I am passing the Goose at Lobato siding.

Bringing the Antonito train into Osier, Goose 5 and the Chama train are in the siding.

I like this shot with both a Goose and a Steam Locomotive meeting me.

The Hydro-static lubricator in 484's Cab... Thanks for being patient with me, I will get caught up... see ya next week. Carlos
