Back at my second home, I love this railroad.... Engineer Ashley Fried on the 93 in Santa Fe.

Moonlight Run out of Chama 2006. Looking across the cab to Jeremy as we come across Windy Point.

Passing milepost 324 heading east... I took my self-portrait.

The Johnson Bar is hooked into reverse as 487 pulls the train tender first into Osier.

Looking forward to the rear of the train....

We are still rolling towards Osier in reverse, you can see milepost 322 and a huge thunderstorm building in the east.

Locomotive 487 is at the head of the train ready to roll for Chama after Supper. Locomotive 487's headlight shines as the sun goes down.

Its getting darker.. the weather held and it turned out to be a great evening.

The highest tips of the clouds glow as the sun goes down..

The Barn Swallows fly against the evening sky.

The Osier building is lit up for the evening.

487 glows in the rear light of the Locomotive at Osier.

The Headlight of 487....

A look at the Cab lights illuminating the Air Gauges..

487 steams nicely as the lights glow in the cab.

Now I have always tried to capture this for you and I finally got it... You are looking thru the sight glass of the hydro-static Lubricator in the cab. If you look closely, you can see a little purple colored ball or balloon forming on the needle in the glass. That is one drop of lubrication being delivered to the steam line for the Air Pump... Pretty cool, Huh!!!

Locomotive 487 at Cumbres.

Locomotive 487 has been turned and is outside the Chama Shop.

Again Locomotive 487 at Cumbres, we took water and performed a brake test in the dark....

Thought you might like to see Chama at 12:40 in the morning.

Locomotive 487 shuts down and rests for the evening... Goodnight.

Santa Fe locomotives 93 and back-up 701.

I love this locomotive, its a sharp looking Locomotive.

Now I think I found it, this must be what's left of the old Original Depot.

The 92 is still out of service if I am correct, I will check on its future for you.. even though it is being used for a display near the highway.

Santa Fe has been running its locomotives on Biodiesel, I wonder if they have seen any improvement in fuel costs and performance.

The nose of 93 in Santa Fe.

Okay, now I am going into the my Artistic mode....

Locomotive 93 from rail level.

Wild Flowers and Locomotive 93.

This whole area appears to be undergoing a renovation, I have to get back and see what has been done.

I found this trestle and have always wanted to get a shot of the train coming over it....

Ashley brings 93 across the dry streambed.

Engineer Ashley Fried and Locomotive 93 take the evening train out of Santa Fe...

See ya Later Santa Fe Southern....

And as always, the Caboose brings up the rear, I hope you liked another visit to the Santa Fe Southern.

See ya Later... Carlos
