Say Hello to Brakeman Anthony Jiron... he is standing next to one of the EBT Hoppers we are using to dump ballast....

Here's is one of the new Logo's on the side of a San Luis & Rio Grande Locomotive... I like it!!!

July 25th and I am rolling around the curve just past Milepost 305. If you look to the right, you can see a loader that we have been using to fill Ballast Hoppers, its a lot faster than a backhoe.

Now I am rolling into the yard at Sublette and passing empty flat cars, Ronnie and Marvin have been delivering alot of ties to the Track Crew.

Rolling to the Standpipe at Sublette, Marvin and Ronnie are in the Diesel and have been at work for 5 hours already.

Diesel 19 and the guys have refilled the Water Car from the standpipe and will head out with the flatcars to Antonito to reload them.

We had a little problem at Sublette, the Standpipe developed a leak and Marvin and Ronnie were on the Job to make the repair... We used the Standpipe, but had to manually shut it on and off for a few days...

Marvin and Ronnie are moving rock and have put themselves in the siding to clear the afternoon train...

Thanks to some hard work, we will now be able to use up to 5 ballast cars at a time to dump ballast. I will show you all the cars in coming updates.

SL&RG Locomotive 459 in Alamosa.

Now we had a problem with 484, she started having problems with a valve ring...

Well after having been repaired, she is climbing light up Cumbres on a sort of test run...

I don't know what's more dangerous, the fact that Richard is in my shot or he's standing in the middle of the road.

Locomotive 484 makes the summit on her test run.

Locomotive 484 at Cumbres...

Marvin and Tim talk over the 484's problem...

The initial repair was still a little off, but I will update you on 484's condition.

After this, 484 continued on and I used 484 to pull the train out of Antonito the next day.

That's it and we are headed home, Marvin and Dominic or "Bionic" as everybody calls him around here will take 484 to Antonito arriving that night at 11:00.

Hey check this out, The SL&RG picked up this Locomotive... it needs some work but I love it!  I want to ride in and maybe run this thing...

Lets see here now, this is a pool of water off the river behind the shop...

The water than runs to this tank...

and then its pumped into this cistern next to the shop....

I love the sight of flowing water, after this cistern it goes to the tank.... hope you find this interesting, heck, hope I got that right!!!

Where is this Historic St. Mary's Railway??? Does anybody know any info on this Railroad!!
