ours... |

Hi there, let me introduce you to Ronnica,

doesn't she have, just the cutest smile.. stop in to the Antonito
Depot and say hi!!! |
Well its opening day on the
Cumbres & Toltec in Antonito, Colorado.... Diesel 19 works the yard

Conductor Sam Ruybal, Engineer Ronnie Lopez and Brakeman Anthony
Jiron. |
The San Luis & Rio Grande rolled in
the first train of the season... and there is the Private Car
Caritas bringing up the rear. |
Caritas brings up the rear of the SL&RG
Train... |
The old LIRR coaches have found a new
home... |
The first train rolls out of Antonito
back to Alamosa. |
The Train will roll out of the C&T
station along the West Wye leg, then unto the main just North of the
Original Antonito Depot. |
Engineer Ronnie Lopez and Fireman
Marvin Valdez wait for the First Highball of the season. |
Senator Entz and his wife enjoy the
ride in the Cupola as the train rolls out of town. |
Fire patrol brings up the rear..... |
Whatever the faith of those that have
passed, may they rest forever in Peace for their sacrifice!!! |
Monday morning in Antonito and all the C&T
power is spending the morning together. |
Diesel 19, Locomotive 487 and 488. |
Thought you might like this shot, every Sunday
evening there will be two steam locomotives in Antonito. |
Memorial Day, Monday morning... These are a
little off as far as exposure goes, but I thought you would like to
see these shots. |
The SL&RG locomotives back the train out of the west
leg of the Wye in Antonito and will soon depart back to Alamosa. |
Where else can you see the Locomotives of a standard
gauge passenger train parked next to a Narrow Gauge steam locomotive
and its train. |
How about a look at 484 in the shop, its
coming along nicely... |
These shots were taken on May the 31st..... I will
continue to update you on 484's progress... |
Locomotive 488 at Cumbres with Train 215... |
Another shot of 488. |
Locomotive 487 in Chama... |
We will soon depart Chama with 487, in the background
is a loaded pipe gondola on display... |
Its getting close, June 1st and the 484 is being
timed!! |
484 is almost ready to roll. |
The guys have the Valve covers off to time the
locomotive. |
In order to time the valve's, well it helps to be
able to look inside.. The guys have the indicator plugs off, you can
see right into the cylinder, can you see the valve, yep that's the
valve inside. |
How about a few shots of two trains meeting
in Antonito. |
Caritas is at the rear of the train, the Caritas has
available seats and you can purchase a seat in this car over La Veta
Pass... great way to see the route over La Veta. |
The Caritas rode over the
pass on Sunday the 4th of June, I will introduce you to the
Attendant that rides on the Car. Thanks to something called an extra
board and two days off from the Cumbres & Toltec.. I was called to
work two days over La Veta on the passenger train as a Conductor.
More to come!!! |
I am at the Conejos River Bridge, the
Passenger train is Northbound... |
I thought you would like to see these
views of Passenger trains in the valley. |
The train was easy to catch, there is
a 10 mile an hour slow order on the bridge... |
The Locomotives are a long way from
home and where they came from, but they are getting the work done
and they look good coming across a Rio Grande trestle... |
I am on 487 at Osier, we had a Hot Bearing
on the Left side on axle number 4.. Locomotive 484 on its maiden run
after its helper run up Cumbres backs to Osier to replace 487 on the
passenger train to Chama. |
484 performed beautifully, but 487 melted out its
bearing on the return trip from Osier to Chama, luckily Steve and
Marvin were onboard and prevented any more damage. |
487 and 484 sit together in Osier. |
Another shot of the Locomotives. |
Good Ole' 487 and 484... |
Ronnica and Charlie... |
Thank You................ |
