Well, its June and we are in the Chama Shop...

Locomotive 489 has been rolled in to begin its rebuild.

At this time, the guys were working on removing the wheels and mapping the boiler.

A look at the left cylinders of 489, the valve and piston are still in place.

A look at the Firebox at the rear...

Its amazing how these locomotives look so empty without the cab and other items. I will keep you informed as to how this project is going!!

Well a while back we had a little trouble with the Water spout at Sublette.

A water car was stationed at Sublette to provide water for the Locomotive's. The water stop at Sublette is extremely important and we set up this new way to water locomotives overnight.

Using a Pump, we could get about 1500 gallons into the tender in about 10 minutes. You can see the water hose inside the tender!

We would stop short next to the Tank and begin pumping water. Sometimes we have to do things a little different to keep the trains running, hope you all don't mind!!!

Train 215 at Cumbres, at the rear is a load of ties for the track crew... pulling uphill 2 or 3 cars of ties is a bit much for the Diesel 19.. Using a light passenger train and a Steam Locomotive to move the ties is very effective for us! In the picture, I ran the Passenger train thru the passing track, dropped the ties and pulled the train out the other end... no back up moves.

Lava Pump house, I will have to get back to this place in the fall, I will show a new season in the life of this Place...

I am catching up and shooting new stuff... keep your eyes open.
