Man I love this shot of myself.. this is me on 487 with Flanger 0L on the Chama Steam Run 2006. Thanks to Zack Blea for these shots.

Locomotives 487, 488 and 484 climbing thru Dalton, thanks to Zack for these great shots.

Jan 24th 2007 and work continues on 489's tender.  New side sheet metal has been added and now the fun begins!!! Max and I and Ronnie are drilling the rivets holes. The first batch of drilling will produce about 250 holes, and we will have to drill each hole twice, first a pilot and then the correct size!

Right there in front of Ronnie is our contraption, It is a Motor Cherry picker and we have a Magnetic base Drill hanging from it, the drill sticks to the fresh metal of the tender and the Cherry picker helps us hold it up!!!

There are certain places where the magnetic Drill won't fit, the rest of the holes have to be done by hand.. Sam and Anthony jumped in to help us.. and with Ronnie keeping the bits sharp we got the job done!!

Marvin the boss is getting dirty, hey he may have to sit in on meetings, but he gets dirty once and a while too.. Marvin did alot of the welding on the tender!

Here is a good look at the new metal on the 489's tender... can you see all those holes we had to drill!! We will work on the welding some more and try to smooth them out a little.

Jan 24th and we had a new axle delivered to Antonito.

Max brought the axle over from Chama, it had been prepared in the Chama shop!!

You are looking at a set of rebuilt Tender truck Journal Boxes.. We cleaned them and repaired any excess lateral motion in them!! They are ready to be painted and re-installed.

We have placed two axles on the Company truck and Max will drive them over to Chama for repair, the shop will change out the wheels or re-profile them, depends on what the shop in Chama thinks they need!

Two axle's on their way to Chama..

A view of the shop in Antonito, The tender of 489 is to the left in track 4, and a passenger car jacked up with its truck out is what we see in the picture.

There is Theresa, she is the only Lady in the C&T shops, she has helped with some of the biggest projects we have had in the shop.. right now she is re-upholstering the passenger car seats. Theresa stands as the only woman among a bunch of guys and she does a great job!!

The Boss Marvin is welding on the draft gear.

A look at a inspected and ready for service truck, a random sets of workers in the Antonito Shop work on a truck, then all the guys take turns and take a look and needed work is discussed.. the more eyes the better, any repairs are made and then it is rolled back under the cars ready for service!

Max is heating the Rivets and Ronnie is running the Hammer!!

The guys are inside the tender, can you see the hot rivet!!

The Cinder Bear Express rolling downhill just above Dalton Crossing.. Thanks to Zack for these shots.

I have a friend who's interested in our Narrow Gauge M.O.W. Equipment, so I am going to post a few picture's for him!!

Now you can see how the Body of the Regulator was cut out and the wheels were pushed in on the axle's.

This process allowed the re-gauging to work!!

The Blades up front were also re-adjusted to fit the narrow gauge.

The Cinder Bear Express has arrived in Chama, Thanks to Zack for these great shots.

Rolling North from Albuquerque, New Mexico on the Rail Runner. Oh and look at the Semiphore, its showing Green, its working.. ain't that beautiful!

Onboard personal Al steps off the Rail Runner at the Bernallio Station..

Now realize here, I am not anywhere out of the ordinary, I am in a passengers seat looking out the one front window!

Rail Runner at Bernallio.

Another semiphore...

The Business end of Rail Runner, soon we will depart South for Albuquerque and Los Lunas.

Another view down the rails from the train.

I love these locomotives, they look sharp!

A ballast train is in the siding and concrete ties sit where a new siding will be!

A good look at that Fast Rail Bird!!!

Pulling into a Station under construction, there will be a passing siding and I love those concrete ties.

Conductor Ray Martinez steps on the rear platform as the Cinder Express departs Cumbres.

Welcome back to Chama Steam 2006.

Locomotive 487 and Flanger 0L pose at Lobato Siding.

Blowdown at Lobato..

487 looks sharp doesn't she!!

Good Ole' 487 at Lobato.

My day is done, after my run up Cumbres on Chama Steam, I have just returned 487 to the care of the Chama Shop.

She is the great hands of the Hostlers Michael and Max...

Locomotive's 484 and 488 bring Chama Steam back thru Los Pinos.

Not the best shot, but I wanted to share this with you.

Up to the tank...

Looking good guys, Jeremy and Soni have the locomotive's doubleheading beautifully.

488 and 484 burn up the rails.

A view of Cumbres and a Cinder Bear Express train... Thanks to Zack Blea for this great shot. See You next week.
