A Rio Grande Locomotive and Caboose in Colorado Springs.....

This arrived when I was on Vacation, but I still wanted to show you some picture's....

The Cumbres & Toltec's second and new Tamper...

As soon as the training is complete, two Tampers will head out on the line to rebuild the Cumbres & Toltec!!!

One Tamper will make the initial lift and the second will finish the job, they will work together to make faster progress...

Here is a look at one of the truck sets of 489... major parts of the truck were sandblasted and cleaned and also primered to prevent rust!!

The Centerplate pocket had cracks, so the decision was made to do a complete rebuild.

Although the bottom channel, springs and bolster is complete, the centerplate pocket will need some work. The entire section of metal was removed and it will be rebuilt and along with its structural support with new metal. What was once a casting with be replaced with new metal that will provide more support and strength than before!!

The Chama Based parlor car has been in the shop for a while.. it received maintenance on its brakes and running gear. Now its time for a new paint job!!

The surface of the car was cleaned and repaired and the Red paint has been applied!!!

At this point we have painted the black trim on the steps and platforms!!

Window masking has been removed and now we are working on the silver roof..

Its coming together...

Work continues on 489's tender...

Its looking pretty darn good, the floor and baffle's are being added now, basically the guys are closing up the tender.

All the new metal looks great!!!

A look at the second set of 489's trucks...

This truck will also require a rebuild of the centerplate pocket.

A look at the interior of 489's tender... you are looking at the new floor, side sheets, and baffle's..

Some of the side sheet work with Rivets.

This is interior wall of the coal bunker..

A look all the way forward into one of the Tank wells. this is where the water outlet valve's sit.

The new coal bunker of 489 with its reinforced corners and seams.

A close-up the Parlor Car...

A finished product, we have to do a few touch-ups and we will roll the car out of the shop!!

This is all the Chama based coaches we have in Antonito, now we will began the Antonito Coaches, three will receive new roofs and all will receive maintenance and the new Paint!!!

Another look at the new Tamper and the Bumblebee motor car, check out the new curtains Rudy made for the motor cars..

All of the motor cars have received new Curtains to protect crews from the cold and wind..

A look at the interior of the new Tamper, these were hard shots to take..

Now that is a great seat!!!!

This team of Railroad history switches the yards and locals...

Thanks to my Buddy David and Roving C&T Shop Photographer, here are some more shots of Diesel 19's generators getting rebuilt.

These are the motors before rebuild...

They look great...

Can you see how much better they look and will perform on 19.

I love the tools hanging on the walls and other details of the shop at Rocky Mountain Electric.

Great work..

Look at the paint jobs, those motors look spectacular..

Thanks to David for these great shots..

I love this collection of old Rio Grande equipment just sitting there... great photographic catch.

Welcome to Lamy, New Mexico...

I lucked out today, there will be a eastbound and westbound Amtrak passing thru shortly!

The Depot at Lamy...

I love the way the corner has a few bricks missing, kind of a southwest, old adobe building look to it!!

Derail and it looks like a weed spraying high rail truck has come by lately..

I am standing on the mainline of the Santa Fe Southern into Lamy...

Mainline of the Santa Fe Southern...

Eastbound Amtrak rolls into station..

Amtrak 161 brings the train into station...

The Lamy Station and Amtrak 161...

The rear of the train in Station, now I have to walk fast to get to the front end...

I love this place..  tree's, blue skies, a long brick walkway and a Amtrak train.

Preparing to leave eastbound for Las Vegas, New Mexico..

Amtrak leaving Lamy, New Mexico..
