Now what are you looking at?? Well its a 34 stall Roundhouse, completely intact and still being used "by a trucking company" but still intact and standing!! I had seen this before, but had been unable to photograph it!! This weekend I was in Las Vegas, New Mexico and took this shot for you! My sisters Jeep Liberty is sitting right where the turntable would have been, ain't this a beauty!!!

Welcome to Alamosa, Colorado and the SL&RG Railroad.

Here is one of their rebuilt locomotive's with the flying Rio Grande Logo..

Good Ole' 8577....

I think they look great, this locomotive has already been out on the line and to Antonito a few times, it looks pretty sharp...

Well they arrived, this week the new motors for Diesel 19 arrived in Antonito.

They came on a trailer from Albuquerque if I am correct.

They are mounted on I beams and that makes up for any lost weight and also lift's them into the correct position!

I used to hope and pray for new motors for Diesel 19 and here they are!

Anthony is on the loader and will take the motors off the trailer.. Anthony and Sam deserve a huge thank you, they performed about 95 percent of the work required to get 19 ready for the new motors.

Motor number one is off the trailer...

A few more shots of the Motors.

Here they are unloaded and off the trailer.

The start up panel for the motors.

They look great..

The first motor for Diesel 19 is on the frame, the Caterpillar Mechanics are on Diesel 19 preparing to install the motors.

The guys did a great job, with a few minor adjustments the motors slide right in!

The Antonito based snack car rolls out of the shop.. it received a new roof and new paint and lettering.

It looks great...

Here is the MW-02 and the freshly rebuilt Antonito Snack car....

What is that white box on the snack car, it is a VERY, VERY HEAVY "Sam, Ronnie and I about blew our backs out lifting the $%@#*% thing unto the car" quiet generator for the snack car. Its sort of test we will try out!!

Locomotive 1744 in Alamosa, these were taken on friday the 11th of May...

1744 is looking good, its a beautiful locomotive.

I love that tender.

1744 is taking up a place on the fuel track in Alamosa..

I love this locomotive, its a beauty!!

The 1744 had its Pilot Truck axle removed for repair.. I will get more details for you later.

The Cab of 1744....

The Firemans side of 1744...

The steam valve handle's above the backhead.

Looking out the Engineer's side front window!!

I will see you next week!!
