The Galveston Trolley rolls
down street... |
The Trolley down by the
seashore. |
Opening day and the San Luis & Rio Grande is
backing to the Antonito Cumbres & Toltec Depot. |
Sorry, not the best picture's, but the light can
be a bit harsh here in the Valley. |
There is the SL&RG's rebuilt Rio Grande lettered
locomotive. |
From 488's cab, the SL&RG train sits at their
loading and unloading zone. In this shot you can see the pavement
walkway built by the SL&RG! |
Opening day and San Luis & Rio Grande 8577
sits with its passenger train in Antonito. |
It's pretty cool to see these trains together. |
Locomotive 488 and Locomotive 8577 in Antonito. |
I think 8577 is looking pretty sharp. |
That is about as close as we can get these trains
together. |
San Luis & Rio Grande 8577. |
Looking good!!!! |
One of the Galveston
Trolleys... |
A look at 484 saturday evening...
Locomotive 484 is in Antonito for the evening and
will return to Chama sunday! |
Locomotive 484 in Antonito! |
The Trolley is taking a 15
minute break and then will head back to town. |
A absolutely cool Trolley
ride and the beach and wave's in the background, love it!! |
I absolutely loved this
ride.... |
Thursday the 31st and a group of motorcar
owners came to Antonito. |
The group was piloted by a friend named Butch..
that is Butch's motorcar on the end!! |
I will ride this evening with Butch back to
Alamosa. |
The group left Alamosa and rode their motorcars to
Antonito, then they rode the train to Chama, came back on the bus
and rode their motorcars back to Alamosa. |
They all had a great time... |
I am always amazed with all the different type's
of Motorcars. |
I love the fact that now both standard and narrow
gauge motorcars can visit the Cumbres & Toltec. |
It's cool to have Standard Gauge Motorcars visit
us on the San Luis & Rio Grande Railroad. |
Locomotive 484 will lead the train out of Antonito
today with the Motorcar group onboard. |
Over the tender, you can see the motorcars parked
on the San Luis & Rio Grande track behind the commission office from
the cab of 484. |
The Trolley takes a break
seaside before heading back into Galveston's old town. |
I am on 1744 rolling into the wye in
Antonito. |
Looking back from the footplate of 1744, we are
heading into the wye in Antonito. |
I am down at the switch and 1744 pulls the train
into the long leg of the wye in front of the Cumbres & Toltec depot. |
This is what a Standard Gauge freight train lead
by a Steam Locomotive heading to Chama, New Mexico looks like! |
Have to get 1744 and the ten cars into the leg.... |
then we will back to the mainline switch and be
lined up for the return to Alamosa. |
1744 backs past the switch... |
Now 1744 will pull up to the road crossing. |
The crew needed some food, I suggested the G6
restaurant in Antonito. |
The guys walked for food and Earl and I stayed
with the locomotive. |
1744 looking absolutely great in the Antonito
Sunset. |
Earl is putting water into 1744 and I am taking
picture's, hope you liked the shots. |
We had a great time in
Galveston, will have to go back again. |
The Trolley ride along the
beach was so much fun.... See ya next week! |
