South of Alamosa 7 miles...
1744 is on its way to Alamosa from a trip to Antonito. |
|
The track climbs a small hill and
makes for a great shot.. |
|
Normally 1744 burns a clean stack,
but a little extra oil was added for the small climb... |
|
here comes 1744..... |
|
What a great looking locomotive
she is... |
|
Past me and across a private road
crossing, 1744 will continue on to Alamosa. |
|
That was a great run
by!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
|
Once again, say Hi to Rosita..
People have been asking if I also photograph other things
beside's trains, the answer is yes, I hope my photography is showing
improvement!!

What a great smile!! |
|
The other day we climbed up Cumbres and
stopped at the Water spout.. What did we find??? The water cistern
was completely empty, so we had to head for Los Pinos and take water
there! |
|
For some mechanical reason, the water drained out
of the cistern at Cumbres, but it has since been repaired.
|
|
We had to make a very unusual east bound Los Pinos
water stop. |
|
It was a little difficult, I must admit!!! |
|
But I hit the spot, we took water and headed for
Osier. |
|
Back on the Rio Grande
Midland in Walsenburg, Colorado.. here I am running 3420 around the

Another visit from a group
of Motorcars arrived in Antonito... |
|
The group was lead by John Aragon,
track foreman for the SL&RG Railroad. Here he is driving the high
rail truck off the end of the SL&RG rails in Antonito. |
|
I always love the variety of
Motorcars that comes with each group.. |
|
A Union Pacific motorcar on ex-Rio
Grande rails that never would have been here if not for the SL&RG
management. |
|
These are beautiful machines.. |
|
It's cool to see such a wonderful
collection of Motorcars just next door to the Cumbres & Toltec
Depot. |

very beautiful machine... that is cool, man!!! |
