The SL&RG Railroad Moose sits next to the Antonito depot.

Welcome to Dulce, New Mexico....

There has been some conversation lately based on these cars, thought I would give you a glimpse..

These were taken on July 22nd...

They sure are looking kinda rough...

They are missing quite a few items also...

I hope they can be preserved, but it will be quite a job!!

This one is pretty bad... if they are moved, it will be a tough job!!

Best of wishes to these cars!!!

I had a great time on this Van, it rides great!!

July 20th and we are running a Special train for State Representative's and Senators and other nice people!!!

Locomotive 484 will lead a three car train to Antonito..

This train will depart 30 minute's ahead of the regular train..

Dale and Jose share a few moments before the departure of the train.

And the train departs....

Locomotive 484 is looking good with its small train.

Dale is at the throttle as 484 rolls out of the yard...

We will meet 484 and its train again at Osier station.

Locomotive 484 leave's us behind!!

There goes all those important people...

The two trains meet again at Osier....

Locomotive 487 has the regular train and ahead is 484 and the special train...

The Special is waiting for the Antonito train to arrive and it will pull unto the main track and head for Antonito.

I accidentally left my headlight on bright, will have to get back to the cab and dim the light on 487.

Locomotive 484 and the special train at Osier, Colorado.

The two trains at Osier, Colorado.

Locomotive 484 on the siding at Osier...

Good Ole' Locomotive 487 at Osier, Colorado.

The afternoon train is in station at Antonito and the SL&RG Moose is here to pick up passengers for their ride back to Alamosa.

I am on the San Luis & Rio Grande Moose in route to Antonito.

What's the Moose, its that Orange Van on the SL&RG Railroad...

We are about 4 miles north of La Jara, Colorado and are headed to Antonito for passengers.

It was a cloudy and rainy day, but I knew you might like to see the photos anyway!!

Approaching La Jara, Colorado.

and passing the La Jara Depot..

We are just South of La Jara and passing the Wild horse's next to the tracks.

Those use to be the Coors elevators near Bountiful, Colorado.

Welcome to Bountiful, Colorado...

We are just miles north of Antonito... I had a blast on the Moose, what a great ride!!

The ride took just over a hour, but what a blast.. I loved it!!

The Moose has been turned with its own turntable... you will see that process next week.. and is ready for the run back to Alamosa.

Back in Antonito and the wheels have been repaired and are being re-installed back into 19...

Here is a look at the interior of one of Diesel 19's traction motors..

I love how the machinery works..

Right now, both axle's have been re-installed and are in the truck...

The truck will be rolled back under 19 to finish the job!!

Half way under, the truck has been spotted here to put the brake rigging back in place.. more info on 19 soon!!

Hey check out that 1977 license plate, that my friend is cool!!!

Now a look at 489's tender, the trucks are complete and adjustments are being made for completion..

The trucks are complete and awaiting painting...

New metal has replaced worn metal and now the installation of the timbers is ongoing!!

Here is a look at the wood being installed on 489's tender frame. I will keep you informed on 489's tender, they guys are working on 19 and 489 at the same time, but work is getting done!!

Well if you have a chance, ride the Moose... its a Fun ride!!!

See ya next week!
