The track crews continue their work, here the guys are in Osier and are installing ties on the mainline.

I was kinda out of picture's, so I have gone back to some older stuff to show you some picture's I haven't used.

Rolling down La Veta Pass...

Mount Maestas looms in the background.

Thought you might like these shots..

Rolling into the lower tunnel.

Last winter, the SL&RG had a minor accident, you can see the damage in this shot.

Looking over the tender as we roll down La Veta Pass on 1744 with a passenger train.

The guys are rolling away on the motorcar to get a few ties from down the line..

Another wonderful and successful visit from the motorcars..

Thought I would try to just get some great shots for you...

The Motorcars in front of Caboose 0579.

Wednesday and a Rainbow sits on the Antonito Depot...

Well its Tuesday the 28th of August and MOW crews are working on the track just east of Chama..

Ballast dumping if I am correct has been completed to Lobato from Chama and farther along east of Tanglefoot Curve..

Here the Tamper is leveling the track and has completed the work to milepost 342...

The track looks and feels great...

Take a look at the track...

Working on the track...

Leveling a little at a time...

I love this machine...

The Operator is fully concentrating on his work..

The Ballast regulator is ready for action....

What a great machine....

The guys put in so much time to keep these machines working...

What a beautiful scene...

Could be that 484 is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Its early morning and a ballast train is being loaded in Chama, New Mexico..

Locomotive 488 will do the work today...

Raymond is on the loader and filling the cars.

The locomotive trails the cars up Cumbres Pass as a safety feature...

The locomotive stays below the cars to prevent a run away if a coupler or knuckle pin were to break.

And trust me, the Knuckle pin can break, we have had it happen before!!

More to come soon...

See ya next week.... Carlos

Oh and another thing, little by little I will begin to offer my photographs for sale to help with the site... This is a test of a online site, check it out and see what you think!! More shots will come in the future!! Here's the link:
