I am rolling downhill above Los Pinos Tank
and the Ballast train is waiting in the siding at Los Pinos. |
We have arrived in Cumbres and have met the
Ballast train here.. |
The Ballast train has to load one more car and it
will follow us down the hill east. |
As we roll out of Cumbres we pass the Ballast
train... |
Its morning in Chama and a Ballast train is
ready to roll... |
Ballast has been dumped from Chama To Dalton and
90 percent of it is Tamped and Leveled and Brushed.... Ballast has
also been dumped from Long Creek to Milepost 323.. Little by little
the track is getting covered in ballast. |
Locomotive 484 has been doing the ballast train
work while 19 is out of service. |
Locomotive 484 looking great.. |
You can see the Passenger train ahead of 484. |
When the passenger train leave's, 484 will wait a
minute's and be on it's way |
These ballast cars have earned their keep, they
are working great. |
Love these cars... |
Back in the Chama Shop for a look at 489... |
Two drivers are installed in 489. |
A look at the rear left side of the boiler. |
A view of the Backhead. |
A look at the right side of 489. |
A closer view of the Expansion link frame and the
drivers. |
The number 3 driver.. |
A better view of the backhead... I want to get the
best picture I can. |
Locomotive 484 was in the shop for some much
needed work... |
484 has needed some bushing work for a while now
and is getting it. This is the left
side and the crankpin did get a bit of damage, but everything should
be just fine after the repair. |
You are now looking at the right side... |
Its main rod is also done and is getting some
repair. |
Locomotive's 489 and 484 are in the Chama Shop... |
Sorry for the small update, have been
busy!!! Take Care, Carlos |
