Now take a close look here... this a Lathe spinning in the "Antonito Shop" Marvin is making a pin for a passenger car Truck... it will be used for the Brake Rigging... But the Important thing is.... For the First time in Cumbres and Toltec History.. we are Capable of Machining parts from scratch in the Antonito Shop!!! We are still very limited, but now there are 2 Machines shops, one on each side of the Railroad.. Now Antonito has a Machine Shop!! The Black and White Film adds Character!!!

Yeah, the Antonito Machine Shop is in Business.... February 3rd 2004!

That's History, your looking at the First ever Products being Machined in Antonito February 3rd 2004.

February 6th 2004, this is the First patch in the 487 Firebox. I has been fitted as is ready for welding!!!

Same as the above Pic, just a different angle! The pin stuck to the plate was a temporary Weld to allow us to hold it in place for Tack Welding.

You are looking at the Crownsheet patch in place and fitted.. it has been put in place and is ready for Tack welding. February 6th 2004.

This is the Big Patch ready for tack welding, that piece of sheet will be the new 487 Firebox Sheet!

A close-up of the New Sheet.

In this Picture I laid on my back and took this Pic. You are looking up at the Crownsheet from inside the Firebox at the new Crownsheet patch.. it has been fitted and is ready for Tack Welding.

Another shot of the left Firebox Patch.

You are looking at the Rear Flue Sheet in the Firebox, you can see the cut-out Arch Tubes, the Bottom of the Mud-Ring, and in the Center is a section of Firebox with a Yellow Circle on it.. Those Fours Rivets are the ones that require replacing!

A close-up of the Cut-out Left side Arch-tube, Sorry about those rough edges, That was a difficult cut for a Rookie like me!!! February 6th 2004.

Look at those cleaned up and polished plates, the top shows the Boiler working Pressure and the bottom is the Crownsheet high point Plate. To the left is the Water Stem for the Firemans Water Glass.

Just another close-up. That Plate polished up Pretty Cool Huh!!!
