Now take a close look here... this a Lathe spinning in the "Antonito
Shop" Marvin is making a pin for a passenger car Truck... it will be
used for the Brake Rigging... But the Important thing is.... For the
First time in Cumbres and Toltec History.. we are Capable of
Machining parts from scratch in the Antonito Shop!!! We are still
very limited, but now there are 2 Machines shops, one on each side
of the Railroad.. Now Antonito has a Machine Shop!! The Black and
White Film adds Character!!! |

February 6th 2004, this is the First patch in the 487 Firebox. I has
been fitted as is ready for welding!!! |

Same as the above Pic, just a different angle! The pin stuck to the
plate was a temporary Weld to allow us to hold it in place for Tack
Welding. |

You are looking at the Crownsheet patch in place and fitted.. it has
been put in place and is ready for Tack welding. February 6th 2004. |

This is the Big Patch ready for tack welding, that piece of sheet
will be the new 487 Firebox Sheet! |

In this Picture I laid on my back and took this Pic. You are looking
up at the Crownsheet from inside the Firebox at the new Crownsheet
patch.. it has been fitted and is ready for Tack Welding. |

You are looking at the Rear Flue Sheet in the Firebox, you can see
the cut-out Arch Tubes, the Bottom of the Mud-Ring, and in the
Center is a section of Firebox with a Yellow Circle on it.. Those
Fours Rivets are the ones that require replacing! |

A close-up of the Cut-out Left side Arch-tube, Sorry about those
rough edges, That was a difficult cut for a Rookie like me!!!

Look at those cleaned up and polished plates, the top shows the
Boiler working Pressure and the bottom is the Crownsheet high point
Plate. To the left is the Water Stem for the Firemans Water Glass. |
