Locomotive 487 passing me on Locomotive 484 at Cumbres, I just came up with Train 216 as the Helper, now I am on the Siding or Leg of the Wye and will head back to Chama in a few Minute's.

Helper 484 sits at the Cumbres Station.

It was a Cold Day at Cumbres.

Locomotive 484 at Cumbres.

Another View of 484 at Cumbres.

You are looking at the Left or Fireman's Crosshead.. it is being installed on 488.

Remember what I told you in the last Update, well here is that Main Crank-Pin, the Connecting rods are on, then the Main Rod is in Place and you can also see that the Eccentric Crank has been put in place.

Another view of a Main Crank-Pin.

Some more of the Connecting Rods.

Here is a close look at the Valve Guides and the Piston Valve Rod.

Okay now to Alamosa and A few Picture's of "Rio Grande 169's Tender".

Remember in my last updates, you saw the Frame of the Tender and the Picture's of the Tank being constructed.. well here are the Results.. Rakhra Mushrooms in Alamosa were very generous and helped with shipping and also with Temporary Storage of the Tender.. Now the Tender is being Moved to the Display Pavilion made for it and so had to be loaded onto a Trailer for shipment into Alamosa.

Tender 169 goes up into the Air.

The Crane has Tender 169 up and Ready for loading.

Interested in Helping: friendsofthe169@amigo.net

The Crane slowly swings Tender 169 to the Trailer.

And a Quick Note, I always hoped this web-page could be used for research also.. So I will be offering the Entire Locomotive 487 Rebuild Project on Photo Cd. The Project will be split into sections as I finish them, nothing Fancy.. Just picture's on a CD. And I will make you a deal, Lets Trade... For a few Blank CD-R Disc's or "whatever else" to help the Web-site and Shipping, I'll send you the First Photo Cd by Mail.. The First Photo Cd is Ready..it is the Nov 6th to End of Dec 2003 Picture's taken of 487's rebuild, it has exactly 125 Picture's on the Disc.. Just e-mail me and I will get the First Cd in the Mail to you... Thanks, Carlos"

Slowly the Crane lowers the Tender onto the Trailer.

With the Tender on the Trailer, the Truck begans to back up to the "Alamosa Train Pavilion" loading dock, this can be kinda tricky.

Tender 169 backs into the Pavilion in Alamosa, this will be Locomotive 169's Home.

Now here's somebody I have been wanting to introduce to you.. Here's is my Wonderful Friend Lee Connor, he has been a leading force in 169's Restoration.. Always doing all the work required behind the scene's and more.. If there is one Guy who deserves a BIG Hand... it's Lee, thank you so much Lee..

Well that is the end of this Week's Update's... I will see you Guys later.. my next update may be a little late, I am working on a Big Surprise for the Next Update.. Take Care and Best Wishes to You all.

Once Again, Happy Birthday Jessica...

Oh and I have more picture's of Locomotive 169 being moved, those will be on next weeks Update.  I would like to Thank the Chamber of Commerce of the City of Alamosa for all its Help, and I would to Thank Patricia S. for the Photo's.
