Narrow Gauge Country

September 13-22, 2013

Sunday, September 15 - Lazy Day

After two days of driving, we all decided to take a break and sleep in. Chel and I loaded up on a great breakfast at the Grand Lodge before heading down to the cabin late that morning. Incidentally, hanging on the wall in the managers office, there is a VERY nice photo about 5 feet across showing a rotary snow plow in Crested Butte. I believe it's a Bob Richardson shot.

The day was spent doing just about nothing. I blew a few hours sitting next to Cement Creek reading "Rio Grande Glory Days" by Gil Lathrop. That was pretty sweet.

The sickness that got Chris on Friday, got Karen this day. Not a good sign...

Chris stayed with Karen while the rest of us went to dinner in Crested Butte that evening. We chose Donita's Cantina on Elk Ave. Food was GREAT!
